The Grand Rapids Pop Music Ensemble is a 12-week performance class sponsored by America’s Music Company and Triumph Music Academy. GRPME consisting of up to 20 singers and a 5-piece rock band, and performs unique arrangements of American Popular Music.
Participants increase skills in performance and musicianship through a fun and rigorous rehearsal process, which includes their input on music choices, staging, and other elements of the performance.
The GRPME is led by longtime musician, and former Broadway star, Mark Jackson. Mark brings a unique perspective and skill set to the new and exciting endeavor, as well as years of experience in nearly all aspects of the music and theater industries.
The goals of the group are simple:
To work together as a group to create a high-quality, unique and exciting performance.
To gain skills and confidence as performer and musician.
To share our gift of music with the community.
In the 12 weeks we will choose material together, learn group numbers large and small, audition soloists from the group, stage large and small group numbers and solos. We will learn about the artists and styles of music we are performing. And finally we will share our creation with the world.
